Sharon Kay Gridley Andrews, age 82, Kansas City, MO, formerly of Grant City, MO,
died Tuesday, Sept. 22 at McCrite Plaza in Kansas City where she was a resident.
Sharon was born January 11, 1944 in Creston, IA. She was the daughter of the late
Kenneth and Dorothy (Vetter) Gridley.
Sharon grew up on a farm near Villisca, IA and attended a one room schoolhouse until
5th grade. She then attended school in Villisca, where she graduated in the class of
1961. Sharon attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, where she
met the love of her life, Eddie Andrews. After one year at Northwest, Sharon moved to
Des Moines, IA for one year and graduated from the American School of Beauty in 1963
. Eddie and Sharon were married in 1963 in Villisca, IA then settled in Grant City, MO.
To this union three children were born; Jodi, Todd and a son who died in infancy.
Sharon was very active in her community where she worked as a hairdresser for a few
years. She was a member of P.E.O., the Worth County PTA, Eastern Star, and the
Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was the
biggest fan at all of her children’s events and was famous for her chocolate chip
cookies, snickerdoodles, dinner rolls and “track meet sandwiches”. Sharon was a friend
and helper to everyone.
Eddie and Sharon were the owners of Andrews Funeral Home and Andrews Hardware
and Furniture in Grant City. Sharon was busy at both businesses as clerk, bookkeeper
and funeral director. They closed the hardware and furniture store but continued to
operate the funeral home until moving to Kansas City in 2015 to be closer to their
children.
Sharon enjoyed quilting, gardening, and baking, but her main love was for her family,
especially her grandchildren. She had a special bond with each of them and completely
cleared her calendar when they would visit so she could spend all of her time with them.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Eddie, her parents, and an infant son.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jodi (Brent) Ravenscraft, Todd (Amy) Andrews,
grandchildren Jamie Ravenscraft, Luke (Dannie) Ravenscraft, Mara Andrews and Grant
Andrews, great-grandchildren Colby and Nora Ravenscraft, brother Alan Gridley,
brothers and sisters in law John C & Jo Andrews, Tom & Diane Snow and Dave & Betty
Merriman, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Sharon’s body has been cremated under the care of Andrews-Hann Funeral Home,
Grant City. A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held at 2 PM, October 30, 2026 at
the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 PM prior to
the service. Inurnment will be in the Grant City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Mission Possible Center in Grant City.

Cheryl Winifred South, age 79, Redding, Iowa passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at the home of her son with her family by her side.

Arlene Ann Roach, age 85, Grant City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her home in Grant City with her family by her side.
Ann was born on August 27, 1940 at home in a little community known as ‘Tinkerville” southwest of Redding, Iowa. She was the middle child of Efton James and Bessie Irene (King) Hall.
Ann graduated from Redding Consolidated High as the Valedictorian in the Class of 1958.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Roach on February 20, 1959, at the Assembly of God Church in Redding, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Brenda Gale, Rocky Jay, Liberty Rene’ and Rodney Lance. This was a marriage that would last 67 years.
Ann had worked at various jobs, her last was a Missouri Realtor for 20 years. Ann played guitar with an all-female band called “Wild Wood Flowers”. Ann enjoyed life’s moments, like sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee watching and listening to the day as it woke up. She also liked boating, red roses, cooking and country music.
Anybody that visited with Ann found out that she had a deep love for God, country and family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Efton and Irene, a 17-month-old brother James Franklin

Water, Missouri, Rod (Karla) Roach, St. Joseph, Missouri, a brother Galen Dean (Sharen) Hall, Pueblo, Colorado, sister Vondene Elaine (Carl) Norgaard, Jainville, Wisconsin, 14 grandchildren,
22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
A natural farewell graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 7, 2026 at the Fletchall Cemetery, Grant City. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Gentry Christian Church, Gentry, Missouri.
Memorials: Gentry Christian Church and the Fletchall Cemetery.

Lois Darlene (Dunn) Hackett, age 88 of Maryville, Missouri, formerly of Hopkins, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Village Care Health Center with her family by her side.
Lois was born October 26, 1937 in Conception Jct., Missouri to Clarence Herbert Dunn and Vivian Marie (Combs) Dunn.
Lois was a graduate of Horace Mann High School in Maryville.
On November 14, 1959 she married Lloyd Wilbur Hackett. Lloyd preceded her death in May of 2001.
Three girls were born to this union. Vanessa (Rex) Peter, Skidmore, Missouri, children Bo and Kayl (Jessie) Hansen, and Will Peter, Valerie (Rick) Hartman, Augusta, Kansas, children Jessica
and Jared Hartman Vivian (Adam) Riley, Hopkins, Missouri, children Cameron Morrison, Ryan (Morgan) and Lacy Riley, three great grandchildren Preston, Mya, and Lucas Hansen.
Lois and Lloyd moved to Spokane, Washington in June of 1961. All their children were born while they were in Washington, they moved back to Missouri in 1981.
Lois was a homemaker and all it entailed. She and Lloyd liked working in the garden and taking care of flowers. With the grateful help of Lloyd, Lois was always canning items from their large
garden. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, macroing, and collecting cookbooks.
In Lois’s later years she took up scrapbooking with her daughters. It was lot’s of fun for a few years, later Lois let it pass on to her daughters. Lois knew that the love they had enjoyed scrapbooking, the girls would keep scrapbooking their hearts out.
Lois enjoyed listening to music, some of her favorite songs were Amazing Grace, One Day at a Time, and Seven Spanish Angels. Lois also enjoyed spending all the time she could with her
grand and great grandchildren.
Per her wishes Lois’s body has been cremated under the care of the Hann Funeral Home, Grant City, Missouri. A Celebration of Life for Lois will be planned at a later date.
Lois will be missed by her family and all who knew her whether you were her friend or a neighbor.
